If Alberta reinstated the grizzly hunt....
...where would you go after them (zone/area)? Personally I would go for 305. No shortage of bears there.

But yeah, soon we should be able to find grizzlies within an hour or two west of the major centers.

I had heard on was sighted somewhere around Vulcan and another around Raymond a year or two ago but I could never get that corroborated...maybe just a rural myth...no doubt they are moving east...someday some guy on the prairies who thinks his dog is on point for a big rooster pheasant will get a BIG surprise.

There was one running around on a ranch I was doing some work on just east of the Twin River Heritage area a couple years ago in July/August. I never saw it but I did see the tracks.

Can't say ive ever seen a grizzly in 305. I spend copious amounts of time our there without a run in. Been there for last 8 years.

357. I'd be able to hunt from the kitchen window. God I'd love to get a landowner tag. I think before the hunt was shut down only 2 tags were drawn for this area. That does sfa for population control.

remember an article in the Calgary Herald a few yrs back a rancher in the Pincher Creek area had 13 hanging out on his ranch destroying his grain bins. He had a pic of 2 cubs right in the bin chowing down on his oats

Seen a sow with two cubs take after a moose on one of the families home quaters about a month ago, saw big black boar on that same evening on the same quarter, saw one right beside the sulphur cars at the plant three nights ago, last night while hookin the spring on the homestead which entails walking down an 1-1/2" pipe approx. 150 yds long, Up a heavily wooded hillside beside the creek. I was about 2/3 done fixing breaks and split appart unions and found union that needed some love from the old torch, went to the mobile grabbed the torch by the time I had gotten back one had walked on top of my tracks no more than 50 yds away. They are everywhere down here. They're gonna have to do something, the land can only handle so many. The frequency of grizzly bear encounters/incedents is only going to go up.

Saw 16 grizzlies south of GP while bear hunting last spring, on an average year it's more like 5 or 6. In the last few yrs, I've seen a lot of sow with 3 cubs. The population is doing great between GP and hinton.

I agree on the Argo, don't see as many as in the 80's with all the roads and traffic but there are still some big boys back in there

Ya those are the ones you've seen. Don't mind them to much in the bush but I don't think I need them in the yard.
