Default pine coulee pike

Caught my personal best pike today at pcr, 39 inches. I was reeling in a run of the mill pcr walleye and about 3 feet from the boat I couldn't believe my eyes when this pike took my walleye in its mouth broadside. I loosened my drag and let it swim a bit then tried to guide it to a waiting net, still with the walleye trapped in its mouth.
Unfortunately only the front half of the pike fit in the net and then the pike fell out one way and walleye the other. Miraculously somehow the jig found its way from the mouth of the walleye to the mouth of the pike and off it went. I was then thinking to myself, this wont last long as I was running 8lb line with no leader. After a couple short runs I luckily guided it into the net where it barely made it aboard before the line broke.
lesson learned, when heading out to enjoy the sun and hammer some small walleye, be prepared for anything.

I'm guessing 17-18lbs for weight, felt quite heavy but have no experience with pike this size, any estimates welcome.

That's cool and a great story.

13.65lb but I have no idea. I'm sure some of the pike guys can nail an estimate based on its length and estimated girth.

looks like a really nice pike no matter how much it weighs!

I'd LOVE to nail one like that on a fly.... all I get there is little walleye, even with 6"+ flies.

I used to give all my rabbit hides to my son's gym coach. He used to catch many large pike every spring on his home-made absolutely huge streamers 12"+

Yes
Fished there a couple times by the culvert.
Not worth the drive the times I went there.

My guess would be about 14lbs, nice fish! I had a similar experience at CVR with a pike grabbing a small walleye that was already on my line. I panicked as the pike was absolutely massive, not having the presence of mind to let it take the walleye and try to catch it.
