Default Any open water for boat testing

Are there any lakes ice free, or partly ice free around the launch, in southern Alberta? Want to test a small boat in the water before it heads north for the summer (make sure there are no leaks, the motor runs, and so on. Located near Calgary but will drive within a few hours if i can find something open enough to quickly test the boat out.

Thanks

NASA Satellite Imagery Tool

Difficult to use if it's been cloudy, but this is daily satellite imagery from Nasa. Resolution sucks, but you can tell which lakes are ice free and which are not.

If you want to check for leaks a far better solution is to use your garden hose and fill it with water and let it sit. Far easier to spot any leaks and where they actually are than trying to do it in a lake. Can also test bilge pump and the like if you have one. Put a set of muffs on the motor if you want to check start and run on that.

You can also test the axles on your trailer

Apparently, after the tarp ripped and let in snow on my boat, the port side doesn't leak... New depth finder, new trolling motor, new seats last year, new dry land charging system, new batteries, new lower leg seals, now a new tarp... I love my money pit!
