They didn't seem to have any problem getting those printed...

Those single page prints are usually done off a photocopier or small sheet fed press - and can be printed that day. The photocopiers or small sheet fed presses cannot handle a large publication like the Reg magazine.

It is gov't policy not to allow Gov't communications out during elections. The online version was out before the election but the printed version was not.

Government of Alberta Election Communication Policy

https://open.alberta.ca/dataset/6718...y-20190207.pdf

"Government of Alberta
Election Communication
Policy
1. Purpose
Election Act restrictions on government advertising and other communications activity exist to
ensure that governments neither involve themselves in nor influence elections.
This policy is is intended to ensure that staff across the Government of Alberta understand their
responsibilities under that Act: how they can – and cannot – communicate before and during a
provincial election or by‑election.
The policy applies to any activity – whether traditionally considered to be a communications
activity or not – which directly or indirectly makes information about government programs or
activities generally known during an election.
Legislative restrictions apply to communications occuring in an election period (from the
dropping of an election writ to the end of polling day). They apply to:
• government departments
• some agencies, boards and commissions (ABCs), and their subsidiaries
• any other organization whose shares are fully or partially controlled by or held in trust for
the Government of Alberta, or that has a majority of members or directors appointed by the
Government of Alberta
Failure to comply with these restrictions can result in the removal of the advertising and
publication of the particulars of the offence."

Click on pdf, section you want then download or print or both.

I like having a hard copy too, but not getting bent out of shape when I can put it on my phone or even print out a couple pages.

What about people who don't have computer , where are they going to read PDF regulations from
I don't think using common sense will help if they break the law

Well

Stupid is as stupid does.

If one can’t do something logically without breaking the law, then maybe one shouldn’t be doing it.

We pay the imbiciles who are in charge of this more than enough money, through taxes, tags, licenses, ect., if the idiots weren't so concerned with building crappers, nature huts and hiring inexperienced park wardens to cater to the cityots, maybe they would have time to do job they are getting PAID to do!!!!
.......but......today is a new glorious day!!!!!!!!!

Some of us actually find flipping through a paper manual much easier than trying to navigate an online manual on slow to non existent Wi-Fi ,,, if that makes us dinosaurs, so be it!

I'm with you. Give me a paper that I can feel and hold in my hand, keep in my tackle box, truck, home etc. Much easier than staring into a little handheld device... I guess at 57 I'm a dinosaur too!
