Default Tobin Lake May/June

Hey guys, trying to plan a trip to Tobin Lake in late May/Early June. From all I’ve read it seems like Tobin in the fall is when to go but I’m wondering if anyone here has had any good success in the early season? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

I love Tobin early season, I find the walleye along the old river channel and the pike are still shallow.

Is there anyway to know when they open the dam ahead of time?

By june a lot of the big walleye have moved out and into the main lake basin to feed. The river section can get muddy if they open the dam and stays muddy for a week or two but the main lake and even the further section of the river to around Prudens point dont get very dirty at all.
