Careful Winger, you wouldn't want anyone to think you want a secret spot by asking for a ice report

I would be super careful out on pcr.

We were at macgregor today and the ice was rotting real fast. I don't think I would chance going out where we were again tomorrow. If the wind and temps stay up over night I could see there being quite a bit more open water then there already was.

Where we were there were quite a few spots with open water along shore. It was iffy getting back off the ice at the end of the day. The spot we got on at had some water on the ice and it looked like the ice was sagging pretty good. It ended up being alright but there were a few tense moments when the first guy went across.

Mcgregor is more north then PCR meaning most of the time the ice is thicker. If Mcgregor ice is bad then I am almost positive that PCR ice will be just as bad or worse.

That is my point.

Its quite obvious you dont know how much further north Mcgregor is from pine coulee. Its a whopping 47km further north. The ice at pcr will be just as bad. The only time it will make a difference when your talking north, is going north of reddeer. Back home this time of year we would have 4' of ice and ice fish till late april

That is why I mentioned mcgregor. Because it will be similar ice and you asked how the conditions were on PCR.

This forum makes me shake my head quite a bit.

Some peoples kids.

Drove down late yesterday aft for an eve of burbot. Waaaayy too much shore water for me to even attempt to get on the ice. Who ever owns that shed that sits just off the boat launch is gonna have a time getting it off the ice, also saw an auger left about 40 yards off shore.

Good luck with that lake, I am done with it till next year. NOT SAFE ANYMORE

Was there last night; the ice is about 15 inches but ya... Rotting.
Might be okay for today but I'd the weather is like yesterday I wouldn't be going out after today that's for sure.

Haha, I am pretty sure the auger belongs to the group of people who were there to drink (fish) they were from calgary and we drunk when they showed up at 8am. We went to lake X after an unsuccessful morning at pcr and we had to go over a few feet of slush and water but it was WELL worth it, we had 5 pike that were over 25lbs, but had to many equipment faliures to bring them on the ice. 4 40lbs test breaks, 1 Rod break, I leader clasp failure. Needless to say If I didnt have the most important job interveiw of my life I would be back out there today with a new rod or two, heavier line and stronger leaders!!!
