Default Tobin Lake

Has anyone fished Tobin for walleye? What are the best soft water times to catch walleye there?

Bobby

End of September, first part of October if you are referring to the river. Not sure about the actual lake, never fished it.

Default If you want walleye

Go in the fall...that's what the guide from Twin Marine Outfitters told me when I spoke with him at this year's Edmonton boat show.

The fishing in the lake itself is incredible all year round. If you are looking for a trophy walleye the late fall yields the largest fish in the river section. Fishing in the river section right now has been pretty spectacular.

Fish the river section it has been really good last few weeks and traditionally remains that way until the fall. We are headed there on the 15th for 5 days... we had a fabulous trip last month on the river and have been counting down the days since we left...

As to where to fish since you never been on the water, cant go wrong hiding amoungst the local boats in same areas day after day.. We did well with jigs tipped with minnows or leeches as well asbottom bouncers

good luck

When we were there a few years ago we had our best luck jigging on the drop off of the river contour in the lake section out from the marina in middle of lake. Did not fish the river section much though.
