Once outdoor mice find a vehicle they will keep coming back. The reason is all the following mice follow a scent trail from the first mice. Move the vehicle and spray the ground area with bleach to take out the mousy scent trails.

I have heard mice have sensitive noses and hearing, so strong scents and loud sounds are deterrents. But I also have heard that they get used to these things and eventually come back.

Having poor eyesight, they also avoid light. With the low cost of running LEDs these days, it seems to me that lighting problem areas might work. (In the winter, I remove an HVAC cover in the RV where mice used to nest, just to allow light in. So far, so good).

It’s actually not that hard to seal up a vehicle. They usually come in through the firewall by the vents. You can close it if with steel window screen across the vent hole in the firewall. Had to do this on my car as we had a continuous mouse problem. Never had another one after
