Predator Camo
Has anyone run across Predator Winter Camo anywhere around Edmonton? Specifically coveralls?
Up until recently, using the regular arsenal of big name brand camo (Mossy, Realtree, etc.) was fine. However, with all this snow, I'm in urgent need of winter stuff, but cannot find anything other than big name expensive gear.

Hey EC
Buy a pair of white coveralls and spray some black paint on them. Its the next best thing and cheap too. What are you after, coyotes?

Coyotes and cougar.
Sounds like a good suggestion even though I was hoping to get slightly more sophisticated than that --not sure about the paint smell after drying.

You could also give Raven Wear a try. They can custom make the stuff you want. You just have to give them your measurements. I opted for the Moth Wing Winter Minicry over the Realtree Snow in a fleece cover-suit to go over top of my regular cold weather gear. Check it out.

The cheapest as already mentioned is to just buy some white coveralls. I think I got mine from Marks Work Wearhouse. I was hunting a burned clearcut with mine and they got broken in just by the dirt and soot from the trees - easier than painting them and looks quite natural. I made sure I bought them big enough to fit my insulated clothes underneath.

Arctic shield snow camo
My dad has some snow camo bib overalls from arctic shield. They are very warm and blend in great with the snow. They could use a few extra pockets and are a little pricey but are pretty high quality so they seem like they will last quite a few seasons.

Ditto the coveralls.....but you can use black cloth dye and use a brush to make soft edges. let it dry wash it once and your set to go

The hunting store in Barrhead has the Camo...And Wholesale will have it next season..Predator is the best money can buy...I was told by Wayne Hood the owner of Predator that they are not going to be making winter white anymore due to slow sales in the states...(no snow)

I spoke the distributor in Lethbridge. Predator winter camo is no longer available. The one jacket he has left might fit my big toe.
Oh well, it might be to painting some coveralls. Unless I can find something in a fabric store and get some made up.

I know you said any place around Edmonton, but I just bought some camo pants and cover parka from cabela's for a pretty fair price. They also have other winter camo items. It takes about 2 weeks to get a shipment from their store to my house. (Kimberley, B.C.)
hope this helps

Another suggestion ....I have seen some winter camo patterns in snowboard/ski clothing, however some may have fabric that is to noisey when rubbing together while walking.

We had these made for the boys last year for Christmas... My wife bought the material at Fabric land in the city and a local lady made them.. They are two piece with Jacket and pull up pants with elastic and belt loops, lots of extra pockets and they came with toques as well.. I beleive we had them finished for around $ 175.00 a piece.. They are made of tight knit fleece and are very quite and have a decent insulation factor as well.

I think it's going to come to finding some fabric and getting some made. For example, take the Realtree Snow Camo. How does it break up your silhouette with large tree trunks printed on it when sitting in a grassy field? Maybe it's just my twisted sense of logic.

If you don't necessarily need pants or boots, you could just go with one of those "german snow camo" ponchos.... I've seen those in military stores and on ebay... they're not water proof, but you're gonna wear your normal gear under it anyway...
