Smile Vancouver Island Trip *Pic Heavy*

I had an awesome spring break!

Nanaimo was my home for about 10 years. My family still lives there and I flew back for my week long spring break.

In preparation for my trip, I learned how to tie flies and tied away. Started with the good old woolly bugger and ended up with over a hundred in a few weeks.

Within an hour of arriving, I had caught a small cutthroat on my yellow doc spratley.

Later that night I got another coastal cutthroat on an elk hair caddis.

And another...

Over the next few days I caught many more fish, including this 16"er.

In the middle of it all, I ordered the biggest cheeseburger that I have seen from Mrs Riches. One pound of beef...

The last fish of the trip:

All of these fish were caught on a small unnamed pond in Cinnabar Valley

In the end I spent lots of time with family and friends, caught some fish, and luckiest of all, it didn't rain at all for a whole week!

Thanks guys. It was a cool feeling to have my own fly catch a fish.

A few of the fish I caught were hooked straight up the upper jaw. Odd.

They defiantly are real beautiful fish.
