Fy Fishing Perch
A gentleman at cabelas told me about a place close to calgary, were I could catch some perch, he used a spin rod. I have not heard much about people catching them on the fly rod, which is my favourite mode of fishing.
I got a few around Hinton, not bad eating.

Small leeches under a bobber.
A balanced #14 works great. Use olive, black.

i love too fly fish them
took my sister in-law n daughter with grand child
they caught over 100 with in 2 hrs
i like using blood worms under indicator
the thing to do is twitch it slowly then bring in a bit
be careful though as ripping back to cast again can be dangerous .. roflmao
had boats watch the melee that must of been jealous
fun fun fun

I’ve yet to find any decent perch fishing around Calgary. Would be nice to find a lake nearby where I could take my two young sons to fish perch on the fly.

They readily take dry flies at Lake Sundance.
Chironomid below an indicator also slays as do small leeeches.
They bite and release very quick. Good hook setting practice.
