Default BC Kootenays Rainbow Flyfishing REPORT/VIDEO

Hit a bunch of our favourite little lakes opening week within a few hours drive of Invermere and had some pretty great fishing. The first couple of lakes we wanted to launch at were still completely iced up, so we had to lake hop and keep going further south to find open lakes where some bugs were actually hatching. Great trip all in all.

Nice movie. Looks like lots of folks on the water.
Are the regs still "one over 50cm there"? The water sure looks low.

yea it was rather busy on some lakes, not so much on others. Whitetail was very slow, larchwood quite hot. Yes it is still 1 over 50 cm on all the lakes i fished, may be different for others.

Was in Jaffray area first part of last week, nearly nothing for bugs up at that time, few gnats and some chronos, ice hadn't been off long either. Should be something starting to happen down there by now. Summit, Crowsnest & Chain were starting to break around the edges on the way back on Thursday. Elk wasn't even dirty yet, and it was low. Feeder streams were starting to come up on the way back.
