Default 49 Years

This will be my last year of buying an Alberta fishing license. I've had a license every year for 49 years. The most you can buy. It's been quit a ride and many changes over the years. I still fish in the same lake I caught my first pike, when I was 10 years old. I wonder how many fish I've caught.

Yes it seems funny to me that I hold three fishing licenses but not an Alberta one where I fish the most. Welcome to the old person's club.

Same boat, this is the last year for me. Sixteen to sixty four years old. When they still hand printed the licenses I would buy my fishing license every year when paying my Woodwards credit card bill. The same lady worked at the Woodwards office for more than 10 years and would see the last year's license to copy over the information, and recognizing her handwriting.

I was checked this past ice season and did not for some reason have my wallet, it was in the truck.

Lucky the young guy said I looked as old as his grand pa so I was OK. I have since taken a pic of my drivers license so it is always on my phone which I never (i hope) leave in the truck.

Default welcome to the old farts club!

this is my second year without. I usually just have my drivers license in behind my phone in the case in case the phone dies. (no wonder english is so hard to learn!)

Three more for me to wait. lol. I believe there was 2 years I never bought one, even years I was roping hard figuring I'd never dip a line, I bought one.

Heck of an accomplishment to the OP. Well done!

I joined the club 5 years ago! Funny thing happened the very first year. My birthday is end of May. New licenses go on sale in March? Anyway, I'm in Canadian Tire and figure I'll grab my new license. Get home and casually mention to my wife that I got my new license. She's looking at me kind of strange and I ask what's up. She says, I thought you didn't need a license any more? Oops!! Back to Can Tire, tell the girl what happened. She is giggling and says, actually that happens quite a lot. The money hadn't been turned over to government yet and she was able to give me a refund. Felt pretty silly after waiting how many years to fish for free and then buy a license anyway!!

13 years for me. Probably be my last year taking advantage of it. My health is making it more difficult each year.

I’ll make myself useful and sit in my chair and catch Prussian Carp this year as often as I can. Maybe I can get a few more years at it that way. Better than nothing.

now in my 3rd year with out a license, had one since I was 16, love showing wardens my drivers license as they try to figure out how old I am. Going to the west coast fishing this summer, still have to buy a license there, but I get a year license for the same price as my friends 3 day license. Definitely some advantages to being older
