Default What does banned mean

I am not trying to stir up conflict I have just noticed a lot of posts from people labelled as banned. What gets you this title and more important what. Does it mean. If you banned doesn't that mean you can't post anymore replies

Suspended= you violated forum policy. So you got a time out. Usually unable to post for 30 days.
Banned= you have violated forum policy more than once, or did something bad enough to warrant not being suspended.
No you cant post.
If you see a banned "title" under a members name that means they posted what you are viewing before being banned.
Once you are banned, you may not become a member of this site again.

People can get banned for not following the rules of the forum, which in most circumstances is verbally insulting other members and yes you can't post anymore when your banned.

However their are the odd instances when people are banned for no real good reason....one example of this was my father got banned from a canadian gun forum because he said that he didn't agree with baiting black bears??? There is obviously some sensitive men on the Internet and He hurt someone's feelings too get a 5 month banning for not agreeing about baiting black bears...lol?

Banned, not following the rules of engagement of this forum?

This forum is fairly open, but read the rules, and measures the content.

This forum is one of the better ones. Sometimes things get out of control, but not that often.

Everyone has a bad hair day, and sometimes people get banned, sometimes not.

It would be good if you told the whole story. Your father was banned because of a very long list of infractions over a long period of time, not just the ignorance and arrogance he displayed in a bear baiting thread. That was just a very small portion of why he was banned for the last stretch from CGN.

As I understand it he was banned here at AO permanently as well. Let's not forget that either.

You should do some reporting for the CBC...

You get drummed out of the forum.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drumming_out

U.S. Civil War officers drummed out of service might have their heads shaved and their uniforms stripped of insignia and be paraded in front of their comrades. Fellow officers were forbidden to touch the person being dishonorably discharged, but in more than one case after the war had ended, a drummed-out man was found dead after receiving a beating from his former comrades.[5] When someone was being drummed out, the tune "Rogue's March" would be played.[6]

Banned means you need to find a new user name and reinvent yourself. Happens lots.

That explains it! Probably only 20 or 30 people just with multiple handles. Haha

The only 'real' way to learn all the detailed intricacies of what being Banned is all about ... is to get Banned yourself.

I'll send you a PM, and give you some real good pointers on how to do that.
