I hear that about 185 000 people had baby boys today.

Bets on whether this child ever actually takes the throne? Unless somethihng very odd happens, that's probably 50 years from now. If "YES" for England, Canada too? Dunno...

Good News.

I better go tell the boss to open a couple bottles of single malts to toast the new future king.

How about a bet on whether the monarchy is still around in 50 years....

They should immediately recall all Canadian bills and put juniors image on it, with him peeking over his shoulder naked as the day he was born, mooning us all

The coins too

What a shame for strangers to spend so much time, energy and money on one kid when there are so many more who need attention.

There is still a monarchy that has power? I thought the monarchy was just a symbolic figure now with no real power that is always on the cover of the rag magazines at the grocery stores.

One has to admire the Britrish culture with the pomp and pagentry that is associated with royalty. A really big show.

Have to love the well groomed horses, exquisite carriages, and big guns that are associated with their celebrations.

The vatican is pretty good too with the papal elections.

Don't forget all the marketing and product-placement opportunities that can accompany the little Royal blessing. The official Royal diaper, the official Royal strained peas, His Majesty's teething ring and what company will be making the official Royal nursing bra?

That was my point, too. Absolutely ridiculous. When my brother and SIL have a baby, I get excited, and I spend money and attention on him or her. My niece and nephew are family, and are important to me. I also have no issue with providing money to an organization that is doing good work with kids in the third world.

There are much more important things to be focussed on. And yet it will be THE headline on the news tonight, ahead of many more important and/or deserving stories.

But along the same lines, if it takes away some media attention from the Kardashians, Lohans, Kanye's or miscellaneous dead celebrity junkies I'm all for it; because its something actually good, something with promise.

As Ken would say, "Do l really give a red rat's ass". Not today or ever. Just a kid who happens to be born with a golden spoon in his jowls and a trough to feed from later!

50 years, yes still around and still relevant in Canada, not just GBR.

I say the senate is still completely unchanged in 50 years too.
