Default Ruger Americian Predator

I've been contemplating ordering a Ruger American predator in a .308. Just wondering if anyone has shot one.

Beauty gun, tight groups, rotary clip is nice,70 degree bolt throw, all in all great rifle for the price. It is chambered in a .223 rem. I don't why anyone would want to spend good money on a . 308 but to each their own.

To the OP.

Have you handled the gun. Definitely wasn't for me. The stock felt very poor, also very thin/flimsy at the fore end. To each their own though.

I haven't handled the Predator version but there is two of the regular ones in my house. I have a 22-250 and I got a 30-06 for my wife. We went in and she tried a few different rifles and that is what she picked. I played around with it lots and decided to get one as well.

Default Yup

I have the 7-08 stainless and really like mine. It is a nice light rifle and shoots well. It isn't going to have high end finishes and but I have hauled mine through some crazy situation and conditions and it has never failed to work. I would have no problem recommending it.

I bought a 22-250. It's not a pretty gun, but it shoots like a $1000 gun. I got it to carry on the quad when feeding cows and checking fences incase I run in to coyote or 2. Every time I shoot it, it reminds me that expensive does not mean better or more accurate

Lots of good reviews on the Ruger American as a low priced but accurate rifle.

I too am considering one but in a compact in 7mm-08.

Not the prettiest gun on the shelf but neither was the 788 Remington and look at the following it has garnered.
