Default Question for the Savage shooters on here

Picked up a Savage 111 from Scoobydoo on here and he tossed in some weaver bases. Only problem is that they are too far apart for the lenght of my scope. So I figured a 1 piece base would work. Only problem is I cant seem to find the right number. A search on the weaver sight shows the 1 piece as what looks like a side mount of some sort. What is everyone else using. Its a 270 Win

I have the 111 FCNS and had to get and weaver extended base for my redfield works like a charm no ejection issues. I believe its the 48429 from weaver.

Talley rings, bases and rings are the same. Work great.

Because of the position of the scope in relation to the base I had to buy these rings to mount one scope.

I've also gone with with the weaver extended base on my 270. Work like a charm.

you got a short bodied scope and a long action Savage...you'll have to use the extension rings like Bushnell says..watch out for the objective scope bell hitting on the edge of the front base tho .

Extension bases will solve the problem for cheap.

402 for the front and 46 for the rear I believe.

Be sure to check if yours is the round or flat rear receiver.

I have been looking for some 402 Weaver bases as well to mount a Redfield on my Savage Axis. Cabelas does not have them, as you said, but Wholesale has them in their catalog. I am going in to the city tomorrow and will stop in to see if they have any on the shelf, I will let you know.

I just had the same issue with my savage 111 long action.

My solution was to get a one piece base (weaver part number 48329 its a multi slot type) and the proper rings to allow for clearence of the scope.

I was able to get the base at Western Gun parts here in Edmonton for about $24.00.
