On another note, we'll see if Brad Treliving made a monumental error with the Lucic for Neal trade. The window is open for players to waiver the NMC for purpose of expansion. I would think that if he wasn't willing to waive it that the deal would have been dead in the water, but GMs have made colossal blunders before.

Great game though. And once again, once out of the 1st, entertaining game to watch. Think Hellybruck more than made up for that goal, which was hilarious, with his play in the 3rd.
That penalty was brutal, guy lightly tangles with Dube and falls. We get the penalty, yikes.
Agree on him making up for it. That 10 minutes stretch in the third was crazy. All over them and held us off.
Tomorrow should be good.
Bennett had a great game. Thats a crazy situation, there. Listening to Ward talk about it, and Flames saying he hasn't officially asked for a trade.
Is it his agent stirring the pot there?

Ward made it very clear in his daily presser that Bennett asked to play center. SO the first two games of the season he plays center. Then Bennett goes to Ward & asks to play wing. Bennett doesn't have the try, foot speed, or vision to play center. Aside from those 3 glaring pre-requisites, he's a natural.... Bennett needs to suck it up.

Was watching online, so a Jet's stream, and even the announcer said that Elhers? initiated the hit. Maybe the refs don't know that if you have the puck you're still able to hit someone.

I really liked that hit he made about midway through the 3rd. Two Flames were trying to stick check and Bennett just glided over and lowered the shoulder.

Is he worse than Levio, who's had multiple games with Johnny and Monahan? I'd disagree with you on the "try" aspect.

This is his 5th year in the league, completely fair to say he's underperformed. Three different coaches............... If he had half the try of Mangiapane, he'd be in line for all the ice-time available, as well as a big fat payday coming off his current contract. Ain't gonna happen.

Its likely if we don't trade him, we will leave him exposed for the expansion draft.

Need Johnny to fight in the boards like Mangy

Benny should be off the ice running in circles to the music or start upping the effort.

Team needs to tighten up their D around the net. Watch your zone or man and challenge with the body and keep sticks active.

Louch needs to sit out and we need a strong skating tough guy who can bet to the boards fast and stand screen the goalie consistently

Given your recent trade history, I don't know, Michael Stone?

That might be too much though, I could see him playing on your second pairing...

Pretty quiet around here.

I just tuned in and noticed Bennett on with Johnny Hockey and Monaghan. Interesting.

Oiler's fan, they generally are big picture people and don't sweat the details.

Well, not the outcome I was hoping for, but it was an exciting game.

Looking like Bennett not going to be in the lineup tonight. Hhmm. Read into that what you will.

Health scratch due to poor play more then likely. Whether he plays on the 1st or 4th line he still doesn't produce. Bennet and Nordstrom are tied with the worst +/- on the team.

Wouldn't it be something if they scored first? Instead of giving up 2 to start...?

And then they finally do. That steal by Backlund set that up, and kept tired Jets on the ice. Good pressure. 1-0

I've confused, it says the Jets are playing the Flames, but the Jets are losing and getting outshot?!? Who are they really playing tonight? Montreal?

Now I see why they don't want to score first.
