Default Rod holders for the tracker rail system , lets talk .

So I want to install rod holders on my tracker , but no one makes them as the system they there is no bracket for the typical Scotty , cannon etc . The rails are similar to like tounge in groove ( no dirty jokes ) .

Anyone know of anything ?

Would be really nice to have rod holders for this year .

When I ordered my boat and ordered rod holders the ones I was given were ment more for transport rather then used for trolling .

Not sure if any of these would work for you John, but they are awesome rod holders and I use the clamp on ones in my boat...

I have rod holders on my tracker rail system. I managed to get some thru bass pro that they claim are meant for the rail, but I found almost any side mount rod holder will fit the rail slot. Nice to have butterfly nuts to make it easier to loosen and slide around for positioning. I do find it handy as I have 6 rod holders placed around my boat that I can reposition in a couple seconds.

Didnt you rub your boat against the rail arms at Wab, and put it sideways on the highway, and wreck your trailer break system? Im sure a couple holes wont hurt it.

I would go with

http://www.ciscofishingsystemsltd.co...ack-mount-7306

To this you can mount any rod holder you like or Fish Finder or etc etc.

True that they have 4 homes, but you dont need to use all four. I just use two on the same level, slide them in and tighten them down and they hold perfectly solid. Never had any issues and it is cheap and simple. I use the bottom two to raise the holder up high enough so that there are no issues with swivelling around, etc.

That cisco system looks pretty good. I might try that on my tracker as well. any chance it would be strong enough to support a smaller sized downrigger with maybe an 8lb ball or so? any thoughts?

What about the slide in bracket system that Lund uses? I picked some of the brackets up and bolted rod holders to those. I love them as they can be placed any where in the boat.
I think they are called sport trac brackets. Pricey, but worth it.

Yes they will support a down rigger no problem, Just have to put the backing spacers in, I installed 48'' and 12'' on each side, They will help protect the gunals when netting fish, I don't got pics yet but hopefully soon. If you put 48'' tracks you could probabally get away with out backing spacers, But for what its worth i would put them in.

If you like the quick release holders, I would check out the Folbe, I have been using them for a few years, they work great for setting the hook right out of the holder. I use them on the Sylvan and the Pontoon

There are a ton of options with the Scotty Holders. They have clamp on bases that just screw together, and rail mounts. Check out the new catalouge they just put out. And for trolling I would use the Orca mount, it is a quick release.

Maybe one of the new Scotty mounts will work, Good Luck!

Some good things posted BBJ. I think you need a couple of these rod rod holders tho. Gonna be hard to choose the two that you think are best for your boat. Parental discretion is advised.

Mudslide, where did you find that scotty rod holder?? Thats precisely what I have been looking for with no luck. Not even the bass pro shop where I bought my tracker at had those, so I have just been using typical 4 hole side mounts and just using two of the holes. Where did you get those?

Can you tell me the size of the track there. does it use a rectangle bolt on the backside?

If so I might have a solution for you guys that would utilize any Scotty mount

Nope, doesnt require a rectangle bolt, just a bolt with a head size smaller than the access hole to the track and larger than the track itself. Pretty basic.

Would a rectangular bolt say 1/2" X 3/4" X 1/8" thick fit into the track?

And what size bolt fits through the track...

access hole into the track is about 3/4" and the track itself is about 3/8th"
