Default many bad things at dickson dam...

so, maxima-angler and i went to dickson on saturday the 6th.
REALLY COLD. apparently snowed there on thursday. water temps were extremely low!!!!
only had a few missed hits all day. that was the 1st bad thing.

broke my fly rod while setting a hook. she just snapped 18" below the tip for no reason. a 2yr old rod!!! 2nd bad thing.

while trying below the dam, we saw 2 dead walleyes float by and 1 dead sucker. the 'eyes looked like they were clean and healthy. a hooking mortality or something???? 3rd bad thing.

and finally, we foung a fresh half full bag of dew worms on the shore as well as lots of other trash. WORST THING!!!!
only bait allowed there is maggots. this is common knowledge. my guess is these bait chuckers were the ones injuring the walleyes too!!! let's hope something blunt and heavy lands on them...

poor day for us. gotta go again before the ice. can't let the season end on that note.
hope you all fared better.
cheers, gw.

lots of bait fishers drag fish up on shore through the rocks, gravel and sand. seen it lots. Alot of time due to not wanting to touch a fish.

you never know , coulda been non experienced fishermen just starting out, dont know how to read regs, used one of the most crappiest bait rigs known to man, we call it the pickeral rig, the hook got way down and they tried to do surgery to get it out.

sounds like a crappy day wildman. Dont let the thought of me being in Manitoba right now fishing up a storm ruin your fun
