Default Auger extensions might be needed sooner

-37 outside the window right now with a wind chill of -47....WTF. This year is crazy! With the recent snow cover it should slow down the ice growth a bit but I'm only 4-5 inches away from bottoming out on several lakes. Good thing this is the year I bought extensions. I think they will be needed.

Good point SNAPFisher. I was out yesterday and noticed the same thing. My handles on my auger were touching the snow. I attached my 12 inch extension.
Lol, it was cold enough that my pop up tent literally stayed standing after pushing all four sides in. The outside was frozen and stiff .
