Default first rat of year.

First rat of the year. I'm not looking for praise. But I am saying keep your eye open. I caught this guy in my shovel trap. Seen him going across the slough. I couldn't find his exit hole. But I found him.

Depends how fast you are maybe? Straight will provide better reach and trap speed due to longer handle. Is it worth the extra money to go aluminum?

Hahaha More of a spade trap. You could go with a cheaper model but you may risk splitting the trap handle. So... It is a trade off. My dad asked me why bother? I said to him would you not run down the street to hit a 5 dollar bill right in laurier's head with a shovel and pick it up?
