Default Things your dog does that make you happy.

I always love when I'm hungover on Saturday morning and my wife's at work, how my golden retriever gets up on the bed and lays down beside me and is quiet and doesn't bother me to let her out to play. She knows I'm wounded I think and try's to comfort me by being there.

She can probably hear or smell your liver crying.

I love the shrieking choppy howl of my smaller Beagle. She emits a very similar shriek of excitement when I come home as when she scents a rabbit. One of the best parts of my day, usually.

Moon howling is also cool. When the bigger Beagle gets a little lunar, I enjoy that too. I don't let it carry on very long for the sake of my neighbours.

Man, some girl in my high school got caught putting peanut butter on "herself" and getting the dog to lick it off. Lol I forget the name they came up with for her but she had to move away.

When I'm sick and feeling horrible, my little springer will climb on the couch with me and lay on my head, only time she does that.

My dog always seems to eat my chips....he loves kettle cooked chips, no matter where I leave them he finds them and then when I come home he is sitting by the back door and smiles at me....he just can't help himself.

.....seeing him smile always makes me laugh....

I have 3 dogs, a great dane, a lab/collie/spaniel, and a chihuahua (wife's). My lab x has been a loyal companion for almost 10 years now, and always knows if I am sick or upset and always makes me feel better. The dane is awesome. so well behaved I actually enjoy when he barks because it is such a deep tone that it shakes the whole house. and he likes to sit on my lap with his but on my knee, hind legs right off the floor, but his front legs on the floor. Its really funny to see. He also will sit on the couch or stairs like that.

When my Rottie gets her stump going in overdrive and although going on 3yrs old still acts like a puppy...
Ok sometimes I get mad at that last part but it doesn't last long when she looks at me with those big puppy eyes.
She's our baby.

I really like the times when training a dog to do something, that the light bulb comes on and he suddenly goes---"got it". Had a couple of those with Tuck in the last week. One was on a hand signal on a remote stop. The other was today where he worked at about 90% all through the session, multiples, blinds and hand signals, staying put. And then had a bonus of pushing a flock of huns, in a city dog park, yet. First time he'd ever seen one as far as I know, he worked them really well. He was about 10ft from them and I could hear the kerfuffle they were creating, about 8-10 got up. He could tell right away it was a good bird, by my excitement at it. All he knew was they made a lot of noise, and they were birds. I pointed him to check pieces of cover, 4ft high weeds, he ran a quick circle and then straight in, whether there was a bird in there or not, and in the course of things, pushed up a pair and two singles. I liked the way he did things. I would have had a good shot at 5 birds there. Probably have 'ol Yo to thank, for teaching him a bit of that last year. Wish she was around to teach him about pheasants now.
One of those days when you go home smiling.

I would bet that 90% of those 'dog shamings' are the result of the dog not being exercised enough.

Funny, my lab has never chewed anything (other than a little baseboard when his big teeth were coming in). And he gets lots of exercise.

Weird, eh?

If my dog tore up my carpet like that he would be done, the wife would give him away or would go the safe before I got home from work.

Oakley's only 10 months so he still has a lot of energy. Love it when I come home and his tail starts waggin so fast it thumpsa against the wall. Then he'll come heel beside me until I acknowledge him. He at least has learned one command properly. Also love when he chases the neighbours cats out o the yard.

I love it when my Lhasa jumps up to sit with me on the La-z-boy.. Flags his tail and then pretends he didn't just sneak the raunchiest fart at me.

Oh... sorry wrong thread...
