This week I talk about fishing in Calgary's terrific community lakes:

Great read !

Is your local lake Bonavista, or Auburn Bay ? And have you had a chance to fish Auburn Bay ?

Cheers, John

My local lake is actually Lake Bonaventure. It is smaller and a bit more private than Bonavista. I have rarely ever seen anyone else fish the lake, and the dock takes me right out to the drop off.

Re: perch in community lakes. Most of those fish were put into community lakes illegally and pose a big threat to the trout populations. Most community lakes that report having perch will issue a "kill on sight" notice to anglers. Those things populate so quickly they can do irreparable damage to a trout fishery.
