Default Best target scope?

hey guys,
want some educated opinions on the best target style scope to put on my .308 tactical. Looking at spending a good buck on it, but nothing like a S&bender. Considering Leupold, Nightforce, vortex or whatever. I have a swarovski with the BCD turrets now and love the glass, however the scope dials out at 550yards, and we plan on target shooting out to 1000 yards in the spring. And i must have a MOA reticle or some variant of that. What do you think???

I have heard good things about nightforce as well as sightron for these applications.

If your scope dials out at 550, have you considered a 20 minute base?

I think the best value glass in that range is the Bushnell big tube elite with the gdmr 2 reticle, your gonna have some issues dialing that far without a base in your favor. Tough to beat night force, if you've ever done side by side long range comparison I think you'll find the sb really a step above them all, at least I did, but for finances sake had to go with the Bushnell.

My vote is for the sightron lrmoa. I feel it is the best bang for the buck. An egw 20moa base will run you about $65.

The Sightron SIII 6-24X50 LRMOA. Retails for $1000.00 or less. 0ne hundred MOA internal adjustment. With 20 MOA base this scope would be close to mid vertical settings for 1000 yd shots with 308. It doesn't need the tapered base for 1000 yd shots but vertical would in the upper 80% of total adjustment. Zero stop is a feature you will want, I lock my zero at 300 meters and record the come-ups for anything past that.
