Be persistent, they don't come a'runnin every time you blow a call !

And they like to hang around cattle.......

I called in seven in the gp area a few days ago in five sets and shot four. They were much slower then normal. Not hungry at all and did not respond to distress calls. I used several howls at each set with a lil dog and then followed it up with some ki yi's and that was very effective. I normally only sit for 30 minutes but the other day I had coyotes come in near the 40 min mark.

take your time to pick your spot, make sure the wind is right

if you hunt in bush country, be patient they tend to come in slowly, I had some showing up after over an hour of calling

Default Persistence

We had the same issues, timing and weather seem to play a big part in it. When they're hot they are hot. I think the key is to set up often, if you don't have success within twenty minutes or so, move on to next set-up.

If you get it figured out before february 11th you should register for the derby! Going to be a fun day with some great prizes...
