Yes, they do have free firewood. Found out online.

Glad you found the answer. I used to go there back when I lived in GP in the early 2000's. Wood was supplied and free back then. Very nice campground IIRC

^ On my previous two camping trips, there was no free firewood, so I figured I would find out before hand this time Granted, the previous two trips were to the south of Alberta.

The place is quite nice, you are right. My first time there but I liked it, at least from the limited exposure. Unfortunately, we had to cut the trip short (very short) due to my 3-year old getting sick (nose started leaking on the way there so was hoping for a freak thing or cold at the most; but same + fever today in the evening). SO came back home around 11PM tonight.

I spent about 2 hours walking up and down the river today looking for some (fly) fishing spots for the evening and found quite a few, but it didn't work out. The wind gusts were just brutal during the day too.

Fun thing though. An idler pulley got seized shortly after we left yesterday. Called everyone in town, no one had one in stock. Called the Canadian Tire in GP and they had it in stock, as well as the belt. Ended up driving with the seized pulley all the way to GP, picking up the new one at Canadian Tire, along with some tools, and replacing it in the middle of the night at the camp site.
