Just be aware the roasted at Walmart are needled or "tenderized". They recommend being cooked to 145 internal. Waste of a good roast in my opinion.

There is no stock left or the $5.97 prime rib at the Edmonton 137ave or St Albert Superstore locations.

Same as Costco, they also needle their meats. But every time I buy roast at Costco- it comes out really good, from Walmart - I don’t even bother anymore! Wouldn’t take it even for free!

I normally buy beef from Sobeys when it's on sale and have noticed it's tough and there's not a lot of flavor. Going to start trying Costco

I got caught a couple of times at Walmart with tough beef but found out it was USDA product (finished different) than our Alberta beef. My mistake. D.H.

I have heard all meat is frozen at least once before it see the check out counter.
They will tell you they never freeze their meat ,but they will not tell you, they buy it that way .

I don't know where they source their meat, or whether they 'needle' all cuts or not, but I've tried Walmart, Safeway, Presidents Choice and Sobeys beef, and keep coming back to Costco - it's simply better!

I won't try Loblaws or T & T - they've already sucked $12M from our pockets.

Because of bacteria introduced from needling.

Good prices. People overlook Wholesale club a lot. No membership required. They have a bulk meat cooler that has good prices on AAA grade beef. You can buy a whole rack of beef ribs for 60-80 bucks. Strip loin by the whole and then you cut it to the thickness you like. I'm sure the rib roasts are maybe more expense that the deal mentioned on this thread but a great place to get your beef.

I’m thinking all meat prices are set to rise once the full effects are felt from the African swine fever.

They should lower the beef prices - one less cow to fart so less carbon Andy less taxes! Should be subsidized by the Trudope government - dead cows don’t fart! Hehehe!

We have trained our cows not to fart and release methane. Therefore our beef is environmentally friendly. Certified “ fart free” beef sells for a premium.

Damn man! I hope our fearless leader isn’t reading that! Otherwise. He will start charging us a fart-free tax on a beef...

If you are finding good prices on pork...or even beef ...fill the freezer. The Chinese are affecting the global markets

I suspect once they cant get enough pork they will go after beef and such driving up prices.

As long as he doesn't tax farts. That happens and my rrsp's are gone in a week.

That was my dinner tonight. Prime rib roast with scalloped potatoes and two bottles of wine for three of us. I feel happy, lol!
