First question, have you hunted before? What have you hunted? Have you had success with a bow yet?

Default hunted

I grew up in sask and hunted moose, deer, and have shot deer with a bow before. I have about 20 years hunting in another province.

You know the program then

Many brand new hunters I talk to are keen on hunting elk or sheep as their first hunt! While I admire the ambition I usually recommend hunting deer or bear first....just to learn what is involved.

Not overly familiar with the Nordegg area but I think many zones near there are 6pt only zones....would be worth checking the regs over really well.

Take a rifle along...mostly for the Wolves that have eaten most of the Elk in the area from RMH west, north and south of highway 11.

If your looking for a quality hunt best go to Grand Cache and north.

Default elk

Nordegg was a prime elk zone in the good old days, about 20+ years ago. The wolves, bears and cougar have eaten most of the elk. Thus it is a tough hunt today.
