Default Prairie Elk

Where I seen this one, I'm not sure if he is from Suffield or Sweetgrass. A long ways from any main herd. He was running with a whitetail doe. Not sure if he was chasing her or following her. What does a 350" bull look like this time of year.

Default 290 bull

I would gamble and say he will be a high 200" bull around 290" or so. Very saggy eyeguard, good sign of a young'un.
Cool pics. Thanks for sharing.

Then he likely is from neither Suffield nor Sweetgrass.

There are much closer established elk herds in every direction from 110....

As far as size, he is still a young raghorn, probably a 3 1/2 year old bull, maybe just two. I suspect he will be a 5x5 scoring no more than 240.

Always neat to see animals in unexpected locations. I second Dinner, in due time of course.

I live on the southern end of 110, not that uncommon to see elk the last few years.

A few pic's from this morning, for the guys waiting to see if they get drawn for Suffield Elk. These ones were in WMU 128. They seam to have taken up residences they been here for a month.
This one is going to be at least a 6x6.

The skies are full of smoke in southern AB. made for some good pic's.

There were 9 bulls and 1 with no horns ,but likely a bull.

I don't think there is a season in 128 yet for antlered or anterless. Great to see some more expanding
