dragging flies use to work but haven't been there in a few years. Friends also have good luck trolling ford fenders or a multiple leaf spinner like that. i usually caught more and bigger fish in the south lake but it was almost always crowded.

we usually drag flies paddling 50-60ft behind the boat, beadheaded nymphs and smaller streamers work well same as small spinners. most action is on the west campsite side and south shore, troll just out of range of the shore casters. fish it at least once a year, usually pretty good. If that doesn't work whip some trout bait off shore and grab a lawn chair and wait.

good luck

Besides flyfishing, trolling some silver kastmasters or panther martins never fails. There are some nice rainbows in there and right after ice out is prime time to go.

Hey guys I think a bobber and worm in the shallows at that time of year would be deadly. I'm guessing the spawners are in close to shore on the gravel beds.

Actually the spawners stack in the shallows usually around last part of May...all fish usually move into the shallows after the ice goes off because the shallow water is warmer and bait fish and bugs are more abundant there
