Default New to canada

Hey,

Just moved to Edmonton from Ireland and would really like to get into archery and bowhunting and was wondering is it possible for me to hunt on a working visa?

Thanks

Also, if you dont know any landowners, it can be tough to get permission. Start making connections with farmers and doing some scouting, so you will have access for next season, once you fullfil the residency requirements. All the irish people i know make me laugh instantly, so you should have no problem getting them to warm up to you! Another route is hunting public land. Get the county maps showing land ownership for the area you are interested in, and you will see crown land, or public land. Often it is leased to ranchers, from whom you need to get permission, but if they dont have livestock on it, they are not supposed to deny access. Good luck, and welcome to Canada. Most of us dont know how good we have it here with our hunting opportunities, compared to the rest of the world.

Thanks for the welcome,I've always been interested in hunting and the outdoors but it's so hard to do it in Ireland as the gun laws are very tight,I lost count the amount of times I've applied for a licence and been refused and the gun clubs will only take members if you know someone in the club, can't wait to get out there

Cheers
