Default Aqua vu scout xl new battery - expected watch time

I know this isn't a new machine but I bought it from a guy a couple years ago and the battery is toast. I am thinking of replacing it with a new 12 volt 7ah battery , but I was wondering how long does a Aqua vu last with a newly charged battery. Around 20$ gets a new one.

If a person used a car battery would you suggest a marine deep cycle or a regular high cranking amp battery. I am thinking deep cycle.

If you go car type I would go marine deep cycle.

Or you could go 9Ah for 30-35 dollars. Same foot print as 7Ah.

Any ideas on how long it will last if a new one is put on. I am only asking as I never had this unit new.

My vexilar lasts a long time - I have no idea how long till it dies but I also take care of that battery since new.

I would think that you should get 6-8 hours from a 9Ah with the Scout.

edit: The original battery only got 5-6 hours I think.

I have a scout too. When the battery got low I just switched over to a spare battery. They will not last all day with original battery.

Best to have 2 batteries for cameras.
