Default CLM's 2015 Antelope

Last week we ventured south to try our luck decoying Antelope. It was an action packed hunt to say the least with lots of sightings and tons of action. My hunting partner hurt his knee so I ended up decoying solo which presented many challenges. It seemed we timed it just right however as the bucks had the does herded up and were chasing the satellites hard. On my third decoy attempt all the stars aligned and I managed to get an arrow into this guy at 25 yards. He's not a monster but I am really thrilled with him. It was certainly one of the most exciting hunts that I've ever been on and I cant wait to do it again!

Congrads on the Antelope. Great pictures too - looks like you had a lot of fun.
I got drawn for Archery Antelope as well and have been out a few times. Have my eye on a few bucks in particular but, so far, they haven't reacted strongly enough (80 yards is as close as any of them have come) to the decoy. Hope that changes this week!

Thanks for posting the pictures.

Nice goat, looks like he'll score close to 60"s. that last picture is sweet also. I have my 2005 goat coming back from the Taxidermist soon, he's quite similar to the one you harvested. Will post pics as soon as it arrives.

Ask everyone for their mailing address and send us a black and white, should cost a penny for each one sent and arrive in about six months.
Look forward to the picture, great granny says hello, little Frankie got married...

Still waiting

Anyone have a guess as to what that last buck that I posted a picture of would score? I am really inexperienced when it comes to field judging antelope.

Thanks man same to you!!we decoyed 3 in an I missed another quite similar to the one I ended up taking.his face was almost jet black he looked so cool!!to bad hes on land that's only open to bowhunting or some lucky gun hunter might be able to take him in oct..we actually tried to decoy mine on the first morn but turns out my truck wasn't hidden enough an they ended up just walking off into the hills.fast forward to the next day, cruising along I spot a goat a mile into a huge flat an he walks behind a hill but it's a buck an I was willing to take anything that wasn't 6" or less lol.so off we go down a big coulee finger to the ridge he went behind an I poke over the top an see nothing.glass for a few mins an nothing..crap.so we sneak to the next ridge 100 yrds an poke over the top an nothing.crap.well they can vanish pretty quick so looking around I spot two antelope runnin full bore down the coulee about 400 yrds ahead of us(right near where I tryed decoying this guy the day before) an they disapear into a bowl out of site.i tell drew to put the decoy up an lets just get ready in case...bout a min goes by an here they come, big guy chasing litl guy full bore past up about 150 yrds an they disapear over a hill into another bowl an outa site.i ell drew to turn the decoy between their direction an us an stay down.minute goes by an here they come back in the direction they came from full bore runnin about 70 yrds away an the big buck spots us an hits the binder!!!dead on trot right up to 30 yrds an turns broadside an stops.DOWNWIND!I already came to full draw, drawing my bow as carefully an I could behind the head of the decoy an tilted my body to the right an put the pin on his shoulder an let fly an watched the arrow pass right through his heart area.he only walked slowly away an stood a minute 30 yrds from where he stood just pouring blood.drew thought it was my arrow hangin out of him.he fell over an that was it I was already layin on the prairie Rollin around cheering quietly like I just won the lottery it was an amazing feeling after what had just happened!!once I held his horns up I realized he was a dandy buck an that luck had struck me which rarely happens to me lol..moment of sadness hit me as I lost my dad a yr n a half ago an realized I couldn't call him an tell him about it..but I'm sure he saw what happened.we headed back to the truck for some gear an got pics an got him gutted an on the game cart an back up the hill to the truck.caped an quartered him up on the tailgate an got him into the cooler an were on are way home!
