Question Southern reservoir conditions

Hi folks,

Wanting to take the boat out for her maiden voyage this weekend and wondering if ice is off McGreggor or PCR?

What is the condition of the boat launches?

Thank you.

Haven't been there but i can't see any possibility of ice being on McGreggor, the lakes around SE Ab. have been ice free for at least a couple of weeks. Other than in the Cypress Hills that is.

Thanks Piker!

I wonder if the water is so low that I might have a problem launching...I don't have any early season experience on these lakes.

Either way I think I will take a chance tomorrow.
Thanks again.

Havent looked at the launch at mcgregor but the water is high and the launch should be good. Was at the canal today and they have it running now.

Chin lakes been ice free for at least 4-6weeks so magregor should be good. As for the level of the water I can't tell you that info.

I'm in the same shoes as the OP. Need to get out tmrw to lake test a boat. I called the Little Bow/Macgregor phone number and the nice lady said she hadn't seen a boat in the water yet.

If you know a lake open for a powerboat please let me know. I'm based out of yyc

Was by Twin the other day and it is lower than I,ve seen before. Unless you can roll your boat out by hand , I don,t think I would try there just yet.

Hi guys,

PCR is low but definitely accessible. You'll need to back the truck into the water a ways, but nothing too sketchy.

Was a real treat to get out on the water today. Saw 2 other boats all day long and the weather was beautiful. A few brief showers, but sunny for the most part with no wind. Beautiful!
