Default Glenmore Res... today

I have a dr. app and live out of Calgary, So I thought I'd stop and fish for a while at the Glenmore Res. I have looked to see where I can go, and the limit. I couldnt come up with a good place to sit and enjoy the afternoon.. Anyone can let me know, I'd appreciate this..
Thanks !

You could try going to the rowing club on the west side of the res. Walk along the shore on the south side of the bend, its usually not too bad.

Good luck,

Chris

Really? I never skunked there ever and i go there pretty often. My worse day there i got a 20 inch.

North Glenmore Park!!! Im guessing your not going to bring a boat or anything. West of the North Glenmore Park dock, there is some shallow water and a weed bed at casting distance. East of the dock there is deeper water, and the rocks are much bigger so its easy to snag there but the pike there are bigger.

Default New to town

hi guys im moving to calgary from london uk middle of october and my dad lives 5 mins from the west of glenmore res im really looking forward to getting out onto the water heard good thing about fishing in canada in general! i really want to do some fishing before the snow arrives, im bringing my rods on the plane with me so no waiting 3 months for them to arrive by boat.

in the uk most waters are owned by fishing clubs and you have to be a member to fish them, is this the same in canada?
ive already got my dad to sort out fishing licenses for me, is there any other regulations i need to adhere to?
any good spots around the reservoir for pike anyone can recommend?
and on the off chance does anyone know anywhere for carp fishing??? i know its not something many canadians fish for, but its a great way to put a good bend in your rod!
thanks in advance for your time
best regards, joe

Most waters are public....but access is difficult on a few waters.
There are a few pay to play waters..example chief hector
Most community lakes need a community member with you
But most waters are public.
No real carp fishery here but we do have grass carp to keep water ways clean.
The provincial regs are sticky at the top of this section

No, not at all.

Just the Alberta fishing regs as they pertain to the reservoir.

Just about anywhere, but just below the golf course along the shore in North Glenmore park is a good bet.

Ontario, mostly, but I have had luck with some sizable ones in the Thompson River in Kamloops, BC.

Nope, you can't access it from 14th street. If you head west on Glenmore to the next overpass then head south (crowchild) until the end and park there. That is the rowing club.
