Default SSR today

Hit the SSR today, courtesy Dago. Managed an assortment of fish, although the bite was slow and the air was cold, it was still a good time. Lots of missed bites as well. I tried out my new heavy duty sturgeon gear, have to say I am impressed with it, and managed to break its cherry on a couple walleye, then hooked a fish I knew was a gooder. Handed the rod to my friend from Calgary and he ended up fighting and landing the fish of his lifetime, nice fat 30 poundish 51 inch sturgeon. Awesome fight, the 9 foot big water rod was bent double, the sturgeon didnt want to see the daylight. Great way to get addicted to sturgeon.

Couple pics, video uploading as well.
Fat goldeye

Kens first sturgeon.

Nice looking fish Wayne.

Next thing you know you will be in the market for a jet boat and will be posting pics everyday from trips up and down the river like Dago does. My dream is to own a jet boat and a lake boat.

Nate I was wanting a lake boat til I got my first taste of riverboating, now thats on my bucket list. Rather hunt monsters on the river than fight waves on the lakes now. And the best thing is, you know theres probably at least one very big fish around any time you drop a line in the river.

All my weekends in Oct. are busy. If I tag out early might get some time in Nov to fish. I've got from Oct. 28 till Nov. 28 off for holidays and going to hunt and fish for a month straight.

Man you have to start taking it easier on yourself!
and do I regret handing over the rod? nah not really, That could have been the only time in his life he would get the chance at a nice fish and I figured I will have lots more opportunities for a bigger fish, I live very close to a number of good holes, and am learning more as I fish. and my personal best is still only a little bit shorter than that one anyways . Ive learned a lot this summer about fishing the rivers down here and intend on learning a lot more and hunting some big fish, because I love the way they fight.
