Default Introduction

Please forgive me if there's a thread already built for introductions. I gave it an honest search but as a newbie here I seem to have missed it.
In any case, I thought it would be appropriate to introduce myself since I'm new to the forum.
For many years I've been wanting to start hunting & fishing, however for some reason I never took the first step. Recently, I made the commitment and I am looking forward to many years of learning ahead.
My goal is to teach my kids to hunt and fish, so we plan to start with fishing ASAP. To get started, I'm going to take advantage of the Hometown Heroes discount in a few weeks by spending all my money and then some on fishing and bowhunting kit!
From there, I plan to learn as much as I can from friends/family, through this forum and by watching/reading everything I can get my hands on.
Anyway, I plan to be a regular here and I'm looking forward to learning from all of you. If you think there's something here or on the net that is a must for newbie's, I'd be happy to check it out. Also, if there's anyone in Edmonton who is looking to mentor an eager newbie, I'd be happy to meet you.

I think this is a great idea - Im new here too - so far loving it. I live in Edmonton, work in Real Estate. Born and raised Alberta boy - Dad had me shooting and hunting at a young age - when I was out of province for 10 years dropped it. Back now and back into it! I like the oldie but goodies - current one I am looking to pick up is a Savage O/U 22 over 20Gauge.
Would love info on bird hunting close to Edm (2 hours radius), and if anyone has info on shooting competitions in Alberta and gun shows.
Best -SubMOA

Welcome! I'm also new and this part of your bio pretty much sums up my story too - just getting started myself.

Welcome aboard folks. If you guys want to chat about about hunting there are some mighty good ones on here. Also some serious rifle men and wing shooters who forgot more about shooting than most will ever learn. I consider several of them to be my friends, thanks to this forum.

Welcome to the forum! There is a wealth of information here for sure! There are as many opinions as people so the discussions are getting hot sometimes but it is all in the name of having fun!
