Neat - but why pay $179 bucks for this product when you can buy a dedicated fish finder, most likely with better features and sensitivity for far less money.

I guess it will appeal to some weekend warriors.

What exactly is a weekend warrior when it comes to fishing ? Is that someone who only get's to go fishing on the weekends? if so that's a pretty broad market segment since it makes up about 98% of people who go fishing.

I find myself shore fishing most of the time, so it's got that advantage over a conventional fish finder. It'd be nice to know the depth of the waters out there sometimes.

Default Shore fishing

I will stick to the one on my boat but for someone who shore fishes I could see you chuck it way out there and scan what is going on between there and the shoreline. Probably has its place. What I would rather see is that with a good camera and depth finder together. That would have more use. Still has it's place for the right person.
