I have the vxIII 6.5x20x40efr and hate it.The eye relief changes so much when you adjust the magnification, that you have to move your head to maintain a proper sight picture.I would go with the conquest.

I compared my 4.5-14x50 LR with a 4.5-14x44 conquest at the range one day. the Zeiss on 14 power had a little more zoom. Seemed a little brighter as it got darker. Had the same eye relief at 14 power but the luepy had more below 10 power. The image quality seemed just a hair better in the Leupold to me, and it had better edge to edge if you know what I mean. I would put either on any of my guns and lean on Leupold because of great warranty. As soon as my buddies break some conquests we will se how their warranty is. But if they don't break...

Default scopes

Ihave two Ziess Diavari 3x9 scopes the optics are superb , but the one time I needed warranty it took six months and a missed season, before I got it back. Any time I had problems with a Leupold it only took about a week.
