Default Savage Model 219 Single Shot 30-30

I have stumbled onto a Savage Model 219 30-30 single shot. The rifle's exterior is in poor condition but the lock up of the action, rifling, and trigger seem great. The owner inherited it some time ago and no longer wants it so he offered it to me. Any idea what year these things were made and the ball park value is? Does anyone own one or have any experiences with one?

Even in it's poor state, I really like this thing. Maybe because I've never seen one before.

I don't believe that the model 219 was made after about 1964-65.
They were a good trapline gun, and you could buy 30-30 solids way back.
I've seen the 219 in 25-20 and I think 22 hornet also.

Ballpark value? Perhaps $250.

I never saw one in 25/20, but certainly have seen and shot them in both Hornet and 30/30!
Not a bad little single shot actually......

You can often buy a bolt action Savage 30-30 in decent shape for around $250, and you can often buy a break action single shot shotgun for $100 or so.......a fair value for your gun is maybe $150........
