Goldeye/Mooneye:Bright flies work best with an unnatural presentation, Hoppers, Woolly buggers
Walleye/Pike:Clousers,Rabbit Strip Leechs,Woolly Buggers.
Brown trout/Whitefish:Whatever is hatching. Rockys will eat small dries off the surface but key in on nymphs most of the time.
Burbot:Iv only caught the guys out of the storm drainages with a dead drift bunny leech right beside it.

Nymphs would not be a dry fly, correct?

nymphs are a subsurface fly that should be bouncing along the bottom in a drag free drift. If all your fishing is goldeye bring some floating line and big foam flies in yellow, orange, and green. Just strip it in through the current or let it swing and you should be fine
