I was just talking with a buddy of mine who outfits in BC for goat and he told me roughly $12,000 USD

Not sure how accurate that is though. I haven't done it.

Depends where. I know there are goat hunts in SE BC for 8-9000usd but I bet you could get them for that in CAD this year. Dustin Roe has a good deal for 12k Canadian. Im heading to the coast on a goat hunt and it cost me 14k Canadian plus tags and taxes. A lot of hunts (not sure about dustins) in the north also have an added cost for the flight into camp (even if its a backpack hunt) as you need to fly to their main camp. That's usually 1500 or 2000. The location Im heading doesn't have that added cost as we are hiking right from the nearest logging road. I wanted to hunt the north or out on the coast where the big boys live. I didn't want to south southern BC as the experience is a large part of the hunt for me and while a southern BC hunt would still be a great experience, I personally wanted something more than 3-4 hours from Calgary.

Ya it would be northern for me too. That's what it's all about. Looking 3-5 years away for me. Wyoming speed goat on the menu first. If you all haven't done that, I highly recommend. Cheap like borscht and it's a riot.
