Yes, can go right down to the boat launch.

We drove on with a small car and van.

And how was it?

My tip was going to be to go somewhere else if you actually want to catch something. That lake is nothing like it used to be.

A handful of pike on the camera, a couple on the ice and nothing else to be seen.

Thanks Cory

I wonder if there are many burbot left in PCR.

Tried it twice this winter and all I got for my efforts was the odd small walleye.

Seems like they have just moved off somewhere in the lake and where I have yet to find. Or as some have indicated they just have been fished so hard over the past few years there just are not many of them left.

I would say the latter of the two TROLLER. Burbs are few and far between there these days. To be honest I have put in far too many unproductive (hard water) hours on that lake in the last few years, I would say to anyone thinking about going to PCR in winter to drive a bit further. I only went there once this year to see if it was any better, 4hrs later and not even a fish on the camera! Maybe someone has a "secret" for getting them there but not me.

ok....I have been fishing for Burbs here for at least 6 years..the first 3 years I could not keep them off my lines..Kept me very busy..LOL...The last 3 years have been in the decline...Unfortunately, I blame the limit of 10 and the increased pressure on the pursuit of these fine creatures...Not to say that they have been fished out, but the population has defiently declined...They should of dropped the limit years ago and closed the spawning period like North of us....

Agreed 100%

I think it will be quite some time before the population gets back to a healthy state and some new regs would help. They still do not even show the burbot as being in the lake,

Default Tons of pike in there and I bet burbs too

I have trolled around there many times in the summer and have caught many nice sized and some in the large category pike so I know there are lots of those around. Just not in the common ice fishing spots. Ask Cory and I gave him a tip where we catch them all summer in there.
I bet the burbs are still around but in different locations.
I had many days we couldn't keep them off our lines too but have not fished there latley either. May have to move around the lake and find they have found new places to hang out.

I have other spots to try all over the lake but the problem was driving around on 10-12" of ice...Did not want to venture out to far..
