If your vehicle has a lot of clearance you should be ok. Last year I had to back my f150 at least 20 ft from waters edge to launch a 16ft tinner. I was going to get out and take a pic, but it would have meant getting wet, so I passed. I was glad my truck had a lot of clearance.

Stay as far away from the dock that is there as possible - it drops off faster over there...and there is something rather stout that you can catch close to the dock - bends license plate and stops trailer dead in its tracks...

What he said ^^ If your truck even has a little lift you shouldn't get water in the doors. Weird lake - the most gradual slope into that entire lake IS the boat launch.

Stay as far to the east when launching at the boat launch. A friend of mine launches his 1775 PRO V without problems.

I put a 19 footer With a 115 in no problem. You just have to go out really far.

It's been a few years since I was there, but; the launch, like the campground does not appear to be maintained in the slightest. so what I found was deep ruts near the dock from folks spinning tires to get out. It was real mess. It did dawn on me the second time to launch and take out further to the east of the dock. Bottom was fair, no tire slip and thrashing about, we did OK.

It's not rutted up or soft. If you go beside the slab though can be. ..

I wrecked my boat at that lake. They really got to improve that boat launch, because its shore fishing for me until they fix it so I can get a new boat.

Many boats are launched at the lake. How did you wreck it?

I too wonder how you'd wreck your boat???
The Launch is very usable, and everyone should be careful backing in to offload.
And I like the lake because its a 15KMH speed limit on the lake.
F/W have handed out lots of tickets for speeding....
If people want to do the speed thing Pigeon is a hop an a ski away...
If you want to fish or just relax its a great lake.

I believe if not mistaken the actual speed limit is 12 km/hr not 15.

The launch sucks and isn't maintained - but it's doable.

I've had my 18 foot lund tyee with 150 hp in there a few times. it's a deep hull and needs about 30" of water.

Battle lake is, however, one of the reasons I installed a 4" suspension lift and ran taller rubber. It gets soft toward the end of the so called slabs.

My previous truck was stock ride height and it would get a little precarious as my boat is pretty deep compared to other 18 footers and I had to back it in quite a ways back past the end of the launch and well into the soft mud where my trailer wheels are fighting mud.

It's doable - but make sure your equipment is right for the job and in good shape.
