Default Fishing the Athabasca River near Barrhead

Anyone fish the Athabasca at the Klondike/Vega Ferry? Is it good for goldeye?

It can be very good. There are some good riffles that hold mooneye too.

Would casting spinners catch goldeye and mooneye?

Spinner definitely, spoons about 1" work very well too. Even a bait rig with a minnow. Good luck!

A pickrel rig with minnows is a sure bet for goldeye, and walleye for that matter.

3-4' under a float with 1/4oz jig had + half a minnow. great for goldeye.
