Default Might be a little early, but kets take ise fishing heaters

I got a Eskimo hut, mesures 6x6x6 roughly. What kind of heater does it take to keep the chill off. I picked up this 5000btu dish style heater that fits a 1lb tank at a yard sale for 50 cents. Will that be enough to keep it warm on the cold days.

I have the Big buddy as well, works good. I fish in a shack/tent most of the time and its way to hot if put on high. Picked up an (11 lb I think) tank for it. Rigged up a grill for it, cooks bacon and eggs and perks coffee pretty good to.

5000btu should be lots for that small of a tent. I had a 3000 in my 3man tent(probably same size) wasn't quite enough, but it took the chill off. Have a 12000 now for my 6man tent and it melts the ice. 5000 is lots, if not overkill for a small tent

Get a sunflower heater and throw it on a 20lb tank from your bbq. Always better to have more heat than necessary out in the cold, and you won't have to mess around with 1 lb bottles(not to mention expensive)

X2 cook on mine. There's never a day to bail on fishing due to cold weather.

X3

Also get a nice little battery operated fan to hang in the corner to circulate the air and soon you are in bermuda shorts enjoying a beverage listening to Marley on the bluetooth speaker.

I paid the extra $20-$30 bucks or so and got the Mr Heater unit with the two burners and the built in fan. You can use it on the one burner setting and turn it to low for smaller tents or warmer days - or you can crank both burners on high and ice fish in your underwear at minus 30.

It keeps my Big Clam tent (12 foot x 12 foot hexagon) toasty warm.

The fan circulates air and, in my opinion, makes the tent more comfortable as there are no cold spots. It's not great when your legs are on fire and your bum is frozen - I just set the heater in the far corner and turn it on with the fan and I'm never scooping ice out of the holes and quite comfortable with even heat.

I can't think of a better heater that I've ever owned.

I run an adapter hose, inline filter, to a 11 lb propane tank that lasts me 4-5 trips Just to avoid the cost and nuisance of the small 1lb tanks.

The link below has the same model as mine ..... worth every penny ....
