Default Lake whitefish in Red Deer River?

Anyone ever hear of Lake Whitefish being caught below Glennifer Dam? Cause I'm sure I caught one tonight. Surprised me to say the least.

Check out the attached pic. Pretty sure it's not a Goldeye, although I've ever caught one b4.

Haven't fished there in a while but we used to catch lots of lake whites in the quiet pockets below the dam

They sip small pmd's off the surface at dark

Lots of fun

So, in a semi-related note, how's the water level below the dam now? I'd been holding off going fishing there, as everyone'd been talking about low water levels. S'posin' I'll have to head over after work one night...

Default Lake whitefish

Have fished the RDR below the dam and before the dam since I was a kid and we have always caught big lake whites.

Fished the bay directly below the dam last night and then over by the boat launch to the east, but was really REALLY weedy. Chucked spoons and some small cranks but mostly just weeds. Saw some "surfacing" going on, but that's about it....
