Default Portable air conditioner

I helped a senior by installing a portable air conditioner.

Used a crank out window adapter kit that worked well. It was a fabric one.

These units all come with slider install kits.

Just an FYI if anyone had a crank out.

I just added a piece of ply that fits where the screen was,cut a hole for the hose.I found the window ones work better for the same btu,
Also if the wind is right those screens dont stop hot exhaust from coming back in.

This product was not mesh. Air does not flow through it.

For our crank windows, I just bought a large piece of white corrugated plastic, cut to fit over the window screen, and traced and cut the hole for the duct. I used 3/4" velcro around the perimeter of the screen and plastic and that way it's easy to remove and install. It's not pretty but works well. The corrugated plastic has pretty good insulation properties as well.

I fit a piece of 1.5" thick Plastic covered "Dura Foam" insulation in my crank out window, got it sealed pretty good and has an R value of around 6, Not pretty or secure but I can take it out easy enough and close the window If I have to

Default Crank out window

I took my screen out and got a piece of plexi the same size.

Cut hole for exhaust

Used weatherstrip foam to keep in place

Looks and works awesome.

Easy Peasy
