I should have just run as the NDP candidate in Calgary Bow.....I would be on easy street for the next 4 years...lots of time and funds to hunt and fish and drink....with the odd commute up to Edmonton for some "work" (plus well on my way to a nice pension) ++++
If there are any nice grandmas out there that would like to adopt a real nice, hard working 50+ guy, please send me a PM.....

I guess there is a bunch of people that don't want to end up at 50+ still paying a mortgage and working 12 hours a day.
Some people are making boat loads of money in Alberta but most are like you and I. I was better off 20 years ago. How about you?

Looking at the election map, I just noticed...not a shred of orange on the Saskatchewan border.

Pretty easy to figure out. Damage control for the Redford debacle.
Federal conservatives wanted him here.
The premier of AB makes lousy money. A foreman at one of the oilsands mines can do better.

You sure are generous with other peoples money. I will do like many other business owners.... sit back and wait. I will not risk or proceed with what little confidence that I have in an NDP government as we have dealt with this in several other provinces over the years. The next 4 years are going to be interesting for sure

God help us all! Welcome to the PRA People's Republic of Alberta. Lots of people could see this coming. I am a WR voter, but after that Daniel smith boondoggle I saw the WR as another thinly disguised conservative cluster #%^k. At least I think we'll see auditors come in and clean house.

All doom and gloom... Bloody sky isn't falling.
Cripes sake, let Prentice's chair get cold. Maybe Notley will surprise.
Guess I wasn't far off in saying 4 years of this

Typical lefty BS. Uneducated vitriol? You sound like a 21 year-old,entitled, basement dweller.
My sigline is for halfwits like you.
Your plan is to take from doers and give to do nots. Social issues are to be taken care of by people individually; the NDP see themselves as "Robin Hood". Stealing from the working to give as they see fit. That's theft, and you aren't Robin Hood.

I don't even want to contemplate what kind of a clusterflop this could turn into, the investment money in this province probably just went into the freezer.
That girl had best be figuring a way to thaw it out, can't take taxes from money that is not spent, and not earned by someone or something, to be taxed.

You do know that if half the companies that claim they will pull out of Alberta, a dozen will step in.
If I owned a corporation that made 100 million dollars last year, fifty would still be pretty good.
Where are they gonna go?

How much money did it cost you to make that 100million? Increased taxes, up in the air royalty rates until the NDP finish their review, etc. That 5% ROI that gave you 100million just turned into 1% or 2% or maybe a loss of 2% or who knows until the NDP demonstrate what they are going to do with royalty rates, carbon taxes, how they are going to treat companies etc. There is a lot of uncertainty for companies when dealing with a left wing government.
I wouldn't dump a couple billion dollars into a project when oil prices are on shaky ground and the government that just took power has a reputation of badmouthing corporations in general and the oil industry specifically.
I'm surprised you wouldn't think to ask any of that until AFTER the election.

Where are they going to go? They aren't your mom and pop convenience store. You think the big oil companies don't have other places they can put there money and get good returns on investment?
As for those that said they would share their money to make a better place. Pm me and I will give you my address to send a cheque to. Oh that's right, it isn't that simple. It has to go to the gov first which is going to grow and grow and then off to the people that need it according to someone else's standards.
As soon as I know a phone number to call, I am calling and voicing my opinion on gov workers wages and pensions and asking for a wage freeze and pension renegotiating. We have to balance a budget somehow and we might as well start there.
